You will find most Glass Services in the GLASS PLATE section of the Yellow Pages.Even though our prices are good... shipping cost is outrageous since glass is so heavy.

What ever size you need is available at Abaca Glass & Mirror.
From the 5"x7" picture frame to the very large storefront plate glass.
If you need it bigger than you can carry, we do have the glass racks on our trucks to deliver the glass you need here in the North Texas Area.
If you have your own glass and need to cut it down, we will handle it but cannot be responsible for breakage. We have the experience but sometimes glass breaks the wrong way while cutting.
ABACA GLASS offers a variety of edge work.
Cut glass with sharp edges is called RAW.
The most common edge work is SEAMED. This is sanding the top and bottom edges eliminating the sharp edges for easy handling.
The second most common edge work is FLAT GROUND. This is sanding the top and bottom edges and FLAT GROUNDING the flat side of the edge. This removes the shiner from the edge and is an economical finish for table and desk tops.
From there, you move into the POLISHED edgework as seen in the pictures to the right. Most of this type of edgework is used on heavy glass. 3/8" up to 3/4" thick. Fine finishes for that end product you want to see on your Dining Table or Conference Table.
Tempered glass is not shatterproof or unbreakable. It is heat treated in ovens to create a much stronger glass than annealed or non-tempered glass. The Safety Factor is that when tempered glass breaks, it falls in thousands of little 1/4" pieces, instead of coming down in big pieces that is much like a guillotine and could cause severe lacerations.
Used in automobile side and rear windows and by Federal Law it is installed in and within 48" of any entrance door.
We cut the glass need to the exact size required for installing, then it is run through the ovens to be tempered.
Once it has been tempered, there is no way to cut it to another size.
Laminated Glass is made by adhering two pieces of glass together with a piece of polyvinyl between them making a much stronger single piece of glass that is harder to penetrate. Once it is broken, it stays in place being held by the polyvinyl.
Used in car windshields and storefront doors.
Can be cut in patterns and comes in different tints.
